| I
am a certified British car nut, as many of us are. I purchased my
1975 MGB brand new at the age of 17 and haven't looked back since.
I can blame my Uncle Joe for this obsession. In 1962, when I was
4, he showed up at our house with his brand new, bright RED, Austin
Healey Sprite. WOW...I was hooked.
From the age of 12, I saved my money from numerous
after school and summer jobs, so that one day I could buy an MG.
When I turned 17 and obtained a drivers license, I had successfully
saved enough to buy a brand spanking new 1975 Tundra Green MGB.
I still have that MGB, and over the years my wife
Anne and I have had others. 1971 MG Midget, 1973 and 1988 Land Rovers,
1962 Mini Cooper, 1966 MG 1100, 1971 Triumph GT-6 and a 1974.5 MGB-GT
to name a few. My passion for British cars lead to a several year
employment stint in the early and mid 80's with Moss Motors, Start
Your Engines (who remembers them?) and Seven Enterprises. I worked
mainly on catalogue development, as well as management, purchasing
and sales.
Currently, the 1975 MGB shares garage space with
a 1973 Mini Clubman Estate Woody, 1974.5 MGB-GT, 1973 Land Rover,
1959 Austin Healey Bugeye, 1957 MGA, 1986 MG Metro Turbo. 1998 Land Rover Discovery.

restoring and showing these and other British cars, and I now offer

Ed Sweeney
My introduction to British Cars began at a young age. As far back as I can recall my father has been the owner of a 1964 MGB. He completed a full restoration of the car about 16 years ago, when I was only 8 years old. Nevertheless, I remember the first day the engine was fired up, and a passion for these cars has been present ever since.
I have always wanted to own a British car of my own, so after saving up enough from summer jobs I purchased my daily driver in August 2004 – a Sandy Beige 1968 MGB-GT. The GT has been a faithful commuter to Motorcar Garage, and can be seen as a regular presence almost any day out in front of the shop.
I began working with Pete in 2005 as a part-time job while I finished my education. I recently graduated with honors from the Temple University Fox School of Business, with a major in Marketing and a minor in HR management. I decided soon after graduation that the typical career path was not for me, and instead began a full-time position at Motorcar Garage.
Since childhood, my passion for everything automotive has been preparing me for this occupation. I have a great respect for these automobiles, and take pride in the opportunity to turn my hobby into a profession. It is a pleasure to be a part of the Motorcar Garage team, and I look forward to caring for your British car.
