This car was disassembled by the current owner, but brought to us for a full restoration of the sheetmetal. It will likely receive full F-post replacement on both sides, as well as some repairs to the fenders. The car was black originally, and will be again once we're done - it better be straight!
As the car arrived, still attached to the chassis Two people can easily lift the body off
First order if business is to fix the R/H support panel behind the front fender. Patch panel fabricated
Initial check of F-post fit to make sure dimensions are OK With proper spacing, inner membrane is installed to provide base for the F-post This included replacement of inner rail supports as well, and the RH front body-to-frame mount
Check the F-post fit one more time and then weld it on
re-check door gaps weld in the new outer rocker
Jumping over to the other side, which has not been disassembled yet, we removed the outer rocker to check out sill condition
Removing the outer sill assembly - the A and B posts are fine so we'll leave them in to maintain dimensions
The inner membrane just needs some patching
Sill patch installed Both rear fenders need dogleg repair, but not total replacement.
We applied a full coating of black rust-encapsulating paint to prevent future corrosion double-check the door fit before welding the outer rocker into place
With the front fenders hung, we installed the front valance Front RH fender patch installed - we used a good lower section from another fender that had accident damage
Gaps were adjusted for a good fit Final repair to join the A-pillar to the cowl
Outside and about to go on the trailer to the painter for finishing
